Jackson Foundation Gallery Visit
Posted on: 30/01/2026A group of budding artists and geographers visited the Jackson Foundation to explore the work of local artist Kurt Jackson and his series of paintings inspired by the geography and landscapes along the River Fal.
Our students had a fantastic time taking part in a workshop led by Rachel Lochhead in the gallery in St Just. They were encouraged to study Kurt Jackson’s paintings and consider how his work gives a voice to the nature and wildlife of the river, before creating some brilliant cardboard sculptures inspired by these ideas. Working in small groups, the students produced their impressive sculptures in under an hour — and they are now on display in our gallery!
A big thank you to Rachel and the Jackson Foundation for welcoming us into the gallery and providing such a valuable experience. We’re really looking forward to visiting again.
