Humphry Davy School 21 May 2020 Humphry Davy students and staff have been tuning up their musical instruments, warming up their vocal chords and finding their groove to come together to showcase their huge array of musical talents! Here is our musical collaboration of ‘Lean on Me’ all recorded remotely from home! At HDS, we are all here for each other! Humphry Davy School 20 May 2020 To all the budding authors out there! We would like to draw your attention to an opportunity where you can show off your creative writing skills and receive the rewards you so richly deserve! Cornwall Council is holding a writing competition: https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/together-for-families/news/real-heroes-read-books/real-heroes-read-books-competition/story-competition-for-secondary-school-students/ The closing date is 22nd May 2020 so get creating! This is similar to BBC Radio 2’s competition: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00rfvk1 Stories submitted for this could be entered for the Cornish competition. We would love to read any stories that you come up with so please don’t forget to share them with your English teacher! Happy writing!

Humphry Davy School 6 May 2020 Free School Meal Information - next collection date Thursday 7th May: 10.00am - 11.30am In line with the current Government guidance, we will continue to provide meal packs for students who are eligible for free school meals. The next collection date is THURSDAY 7th MAY. Meal packs can be collected from the school car park between 10.00 am and 11.30 am. If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, (and if you haven't already done so), please can you verify your email address by filling out the contact form which can be found on our website.

Please note that we have changed the collection day to Friday 27th March. One parent will need to collect a care package that will last 10 days (covering the Easter period). The distribution point will be located in the new Staff Car Park between 10am and 11.30am. If you are unable to collect your package, we would be grateful if you could nominate someone to collect it on your behalf. If this is not possible, please contact the school by emailing enquiries@humphry-davy.cornwall.sch.uk. Arrangements for our local primary schools will remain unaffected, and parents should collect meal packs directly from their child’s primary school on MONDAY 30th MARCH. Your primary school will inform you of the collection time.

Humphry Davy School 20 Mar 2020 Humphry Davy School- Free School Meal provision. If your child usually receives free school meals we have committed to being a Hub to distribute meal packs for our students. The Hub will run from Monday 23rd March, and then every Monday after this (including the Easter Holiday). One parent will need to collect a care package that will last 5 days (containing essential items such as; bread, cheese, fruit, snacks, cereal bars etc..). The distribution point will be located in the new Staff Car Park between 12pm and 2pm. If you are unable to collect your package, we would be grateful if you could nominate someone to collect it on your behalf. If this is not possible, please contact the school by emailing enquiries@humphry-davy.cornwall.sch.uk
