There are so many exciting activities to choose from, every day of the week 🎭 ⚽️ 🎵 📸 🌸 Year 11 have extra revision sessions from 3pm-4pm every day of the week also. Revision timetable to follow !

Humphry Davy School 14 Sep 2023 Before summer a group of 44 HDS musicians took to foreign ground (literally) as they spent five amazing days touring around Paris! The students travelled right into the heart of Paris where they enjoyed a music and culture filled week of outdoor performances, museum visits, a spot of sightseeing and a full day at ‘The land where magic lives’, Disneyland Paris! Each of the five bands had the opportunity to perform at the three Parisian venues. It was great to see our young performers take everything they’ve learnt from this busy summer term and bring it to life on new, unfamiliar stages. A particular highlight was seeing the amazing support each student gave to those on stage through cheering and organised dance routines (choreographed by Mr Chinn). Another stand out moment was seeing Band of Fiasco take to the big stage at Disneyland! They performed like seasoned professionals and made the ginormous stage their own with their confidence and musical prowess. What an INCREDIBLE trip! Memories that will never be forgotten.

To help us celebrate European Days of Languages we would love to know which languages members of our school community speak. Humphry Davy School 24 Jul 2023 During the penultimate week of term, students took part in three jam packed days of adventure. The whole school was 'out and about', soaking up a range of different experiences. From horse riding to sailing...abseiling to fishing...skateboarding to surfing...there really was something for everyone! We can't wait for next year!

Humphry Davy School 20 Jul 2023 Sports Day at HDS is something we look forward to every year. The sun was shining, which was a brilliant way to start the day, and everyone got stuck in! The morning is filled with an array of different sporting activities, with students competing across the entire school site. The afternoon is the highlight of the day for us though, with the whole school gathering on the field for the running races! The atmosphere was electric as students powered their way across the finish line to thunderous applause from their fellow class mates. A huge well done to everyone involved, what a great day it was!

Humphry Davy School 17 Jul 2023 The HDS ‘Class of 2023’ gathered at Tregenna Castle on Wednesday 28th June where they let their hair down, marking the completion of their five years of secondary education with us. Everyone had a smile on their face as they showed off their beautiful dresses and smartest suits, ready to enjoy a night of fine dining and fun. The evening was a perfect opportunity for students and staff to relax, catch up with each other and enjoy each others’ company. We wish you all the best of luck with your future endeavours and couldn’t be prouder of the young adults you have become. Humphry Davy School 10 Jul 2023 Our newly formed Greenpower team has been working on the Kit car since September and finally they had the opportunity to race at a local event in Cornwall. On a sunny Wednesday the team made their way to Predannck Airfield, on the Lizard, to race against schools from across the southwest. As with all engineering projects there were some final tweaks required before the race, but the team worked exceptionally well to get everything done on time. Swift teamwork after the practice lap ensured they were ready to race on time. Sam was the first driver and started from the grid, followed by Kit. The 90 minute endurance race unfortunately came to a halt as the team neared the 60 minute point. The race was a brilliant experience for the team, and they have picked up lots of ideas of how to improve their car for next year. The team are now looking forward to making those improvements so that the car is more competitive for next years race. Well done team HDS.

Humphry Davy School 3 Jul 2023 Congratulations to Year 10 students Nina and Phoebe who took part in show jumping competitions over the weekend! It was great to see both of them in action, putting on a determined performance for the onlooking crowds. This was a fantastic experience for both horse and rider and we look forward to hearing more about their horse riding success!
