Year 9 Textiles students were treated to a private viewing of the wonderful collection of Crysede hand block printed silk and linen garments from the 1920s/30s at Penlee museum.

In preparation for their KS4 learning journeys, students learnt all about the founders of the company, Alec and Kay Walker. They also worked in the style of the artist by sketching out their own design ideas before cutting them out of lino and hand printing them onto fabric.

The students met with the gallery curator and educational officer, providing a great opportunity for students to learn about what careers are available in the arts.
