Humphry Davy School 25 Mar 2020 Humphry Davy School- Free School Meal Provision (change of collection date to Friday 27th March) If your child usually receives free school meals we will be continuing to provide meal packs to cover the Easter period. Please note that we have changed the collection day to Friday 27th March. One parent will need to collect a care package that will last 10 days (covering the Easter period). The distribution point will be located in the new Staff Car Park between 10am and 11.30am. If you are unable to collect your package, we would be grateful if you could nominate someone to collect it on your behalf. If this is not possible, please contact the school by emailing enquiries@humphry-davy.cornwall.sch.uk. Arrangements for our local primary schools will remain unaffected, and parents should collect meal packs directly from their child’s primary school on MONDAY 30th MARCH. Your primary school will inform you of the collection time.

Humphry Davy School 20 Mar 2020 Humphry Davy School- Free School Meal provision. If your child usually receives free school meals we have committed to being a Hub to distribute meal packs for our students. The Hub will run from Monday 23rd March, and then every Monday after this (including the Easter Holiday). One parent will need to collect a care package that will last 5 days (containing essential items such as; bread, cheese, fruit, snacks, cereal bars etc..). The distribution point will be located in the new Staff Car Park between 12pm and 2pm. If you are unable to collect your package, we would be grateful if you could nominate someone to collect it on your behalf. If this is not possible, please contact the school by emailing enquiries@humphry-davy.cornwall.sch.uk

Each of the tasks set required teamwork and humour; both shared in great abundance by everyone. Thank you PZ Fire Station for welcoming our students!

Humphry Davy School 6 Feb 2020 Well done to all our Year 11 students who took part in mock interviews on Tuesday as part of our Careers program. Being interviewed can be a very nerve-wracking task for many people and we feel it is important for students to experience what they can expect from this formal setting. Students will receive constructive feedback on their interviews with useful tips and techniques for them to take forward into future interviews.

Humphry Davy School 4 Feb 2020 Thirteen intrepid Year 10 students ventured to Geever Tin Mine last week as part of their GCSE in Film Studies. The crew practised different camera skills and experimented with costume design and make-up techniques; the experience was an invaluable taste of a career in filmmaking. Thanks to the team at Geevor Tin Mine for letting our students use your fantastic facilities, it was as if a Hollywood Studio stage set had been built especially for us!

The students will also be treated to lectures on climate change, the Big Bang, anthropology and the finer points of exam techniques. The Forum is filled to the brim with students from across the South West anticipating a fantastic day!

Humphry Davy School 13 Dec 2019 The fantastic HDS Panto performance is only days away! This year’s show is ‘The Wizard of Odd’ and we cannot wait to see what our talented students have come up with. The students will be performing on two evenings next week and for the Tuesday performance we will be running a special offer on student tickets; buy one and bring a friend for half price! If you haven't already picked up your ticket, grab one now from reception, it is sure to be a brilliant night!

Humphry Davy School 4 Dec 2019 We will be holding a ‘Scholastic’ Book Fair in the library from Monday 9th – 16th December. Half price books will be available for students and staff to browse & purchase at mentoring, break, lunch and from 3-4pm during homework club. Parents are welcome to join us after school (please sign in at reception). This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase books for Christmas presents; there will be an exciting selection to suit all ages & abilities!
