Humphry Davy School 6 Dec 2023 After the morning spent in the Natural History Museum, our London trip spent their afternoon in Covent Garden seeing this year’s beautiful Christmas decorations and sampling some of the delicious street food. They were then back to the West End for their second musical of the trip - Matilda! Which was absolutely spectacular! We look forward to hearing all their stories when they return.

Humphry Davy School 5 Dec 2023 Students and staff arrived safely in London yesterday. They visited The Wetlands Centre before heading to dinner and the first of two theatre visits! Last night’s show – the hit musical Mrs Doubtfire! Today, they started the day right with a full English breakfast before heading to The National History Museum, spotting iconic London landmarks such as the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Parliament, Pudding Lane and Harrods en route!

Humphry Davy School 16 Nov 2023 Scholastic HALF PRICE Book Fair - HDS Library: Monday 4th – Friday 8th December We’re excited to be hosting a half price book fair for our students (8.30am – 4pm) and parents (3pm-4pm). Books can be purchased directly from the fair with cash, or you can purchase vouchers online which can be used to pay on the day. Alternatively, students can complete a wishlist which they can take home for payment to be made online. Books make fantastic presents and prices start at only £2.99! See you there!

Humphry Davy School 14 Nov 2023 On Sunday, Mrs Oliver, along with senior students Jesse and Faye, attended the remembrance day service in Penzance. Both students were superb ambassadors for the school, laying a wreath on behalf of our whole community. It was great to see other HDS students representing local service organisations and wearing their uniforms with pride. On Friday, our school took part in a two minutes silence. Students were encouraged to wear their service uniforms on the day and were invited to join Mrs Oliver, our senior students and Year 7 students for a short service in the gallery to commemorate HDS students of the past. We will remember them.

It’s fantastic news … we will be cooking some tasty new dishes and learning about the health benefits. Delicious - we just can’t wait! They’ll be setting up the restaurant and preparing the dish of the day “mussels in a Thai green curry broth with noodles and crusty bread” which they will then eat at lunch time.

Humphry Davy School 10 Nov 2023 Today at HDS, we remember those who have served and who continue to serve. Our school community fell silent at 11am, marked by the sound of the Last Post echoing around the school grounds. Lest we forget.

Humphry Davy School 8 Nov 2023 Congratulations to student Charlie on his recent achievements in sailing! As part of Penzance Sailing Club, Charlie is the winner of their ‘Junior student of the year’ and ‘Regatta U18 leading’ awards. What a brilliant achievement and what beautiful trophies! You should be so proud. We look forward to hearing of your further achievements in this brilliant sport. Well done!
