Students Gather for Remembrance Day

Posted on: 11/11/2019

On Monday 11th November, with the final notes of the ‘Last Post’ echoing around the school, the Humphry Davy School community fell silent for 2 minutes; remembering those who lost their lives in conflict, those who have served and their families.

Following the silence, Mrs Oliver (Deputy Headteacher) held a poignant service for students, staff and governors - paying respect to former students of the school who served and lost their lives; imparting and entrusting the history recorded on both of the school’s War Memorials.

Prior to the service, students displayed poppies around the school and in the Memorial Garden, bearing personalised messages of remembrance for all to witness and read.
