Four years ago PE teacher, Miss Stovell, decided to speak with Mr Marshall about running our very own Race for Life here at HDS. This soon became an annual event and has run every year without fail. This term Miss Stovell, along with a group of students, presented Cancer Research UK representative, Sophie Barber, with a cheque for an amazing £11,371!

Miss Barber commented: “I can’t thank the staff and students at Humphry Davy enough for how they completely got behind Race for Life – making it such a successful, annual fundraiser for their school, raising such an incredible amount for the charity.”

Our 2019 event alone raised an incredible £2,818! In true Humphry Davy spirit all our students and staff got involved and we could not be prouder of everyone for taking part. The funds we have raised will go a long way to funding vital research in the fight against cancer.

Congratulations to everyone, with big thanks to Miss Stovell for running this fantastic event. We can’t wait to see this total get smashed next year!
