Celebrating 'National Careers Week'!

Posted on: 09/03/2022

At Humphry Davy School we offer an extensive careers programme which runs across all year groups, from Year 7 to Year 11.

This week is National Careers Week, and here's a taster of what's been happening so far...

Hairdressing at Penwith College

National Careers week got off to a great start with a hairdressing taster session at Penwith College on Monday! The students enjoyed having the opportunity to wash, section, cut and foil hair and are looking forward to next week's beauty session!

Year 11 'Mock Interviews'

In the run up to this week, our Year 11 students have also been busy writing their CV's in preparation for today's 'mock interviews'.  We would like to extend our thanks to Rotarians and representatives from local business who provided a 'real life' interview experience for our young people - an invaluable opportunity to expand and build on the skills already learned in school.

Year 8 Careers Assembly

Our Year 8 students also had the opportunity to listen to our local veterinarian, David Coombes, from Rosevean Veterinary Practice.  David delivered an inspiring and informative assembly about routes into animal care and the opportunities available.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Year 10 Work Experience

With Work Experience on the horizon, our Year 10s have been busy securing their placements...far and wide!  An exciting opportunity for our students to spend a week learning about their chosen career.  We are sure they will have a great time, and we look forward to sharing more information with you soon!

Check back soon to see more!
