Scarlet Sage GCSE Photography
Scarlet Sage’s beautifully feminine portrait of model Simone was her exam piece formed around the theme 'shatter'. The work is based on a studio shoot, followed by a colour removal technique using Photoshop, where a duplicate of the image is grey scaled and key parts of the colour layer are removed to expose it. Two versions of the image are produced at varying exposures. Both images are cut into strips of varying widths, a selection of which are then arranged on a black background. The arrangement is photographed to create a perspective and digital distortion. This image is processed in Lightroom to add a vignette, film grain, and to enhance the vibrancy of the muted colour pallette.
